SBG 3: The Chinese Expansion

The Chinese Expansion makes Surface Battle Group v3.0 the most up to date naval combat game available. It's 65 pages of "What's happening now".

 You must have a copy of the Surface Battle Group v3.0 core rules in order to use this expansion.

The People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Republic of China (ROC / Taiwan) are the forces contained here. The data sources are 21st century, many of them 2005 or newer. Chinese SSBN's and Nimitz class CVN's are here. The F-18E Super Hornet and the Su-30Mk2 Flanker are present as well.

There are five scenarios for you to explore the repercussions of incidents in the Strait of Taiwan or the Pacific. Even action in the South China Sea is possible. Three scenarios are PRC versus ROC. Two of them are PRC versus USN. In keeping with being current, two of the scenarios involve nuclear / electromagnetic pulse effects on the combatants.

 The 400nm air range of the PRC is enough to make the neighbors of the People's Republic uncomfortable. Taiwan and the South China Sea are definitely with the sphere of influence of the PRC. The geo-political landscape has changed. Neighboring nations now have to deal with the reality of the PRC presence. They will work to retain their independence while not losing any good relations they have with the west; or irritating the PRC.

 In the process of digging up the data to create this expansion, I found plenty of photographs of ships listed in this work on the web. Simply enter "Taiwanese Navy ships",  "Chinese Navy ships", "Russian Navy ships" and just about any of the USN ship classes to find downloadable photos. Just print them on cardstock.
