A Call to Arms: Star Fleet Book 1.2: Federation Ship Roster Card Pack

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Often known simply as “the Federation,” this empire is the strongest and most economically aggressive.  Without a few wars to slow them down, the Federation (due to its booming economy, the result of freedoms not seen elsewhere) might make enough profit to simply buy the other empires in a century or two.  The Federation has never invaded another empire and only fights defensive wars; then again, more than one of its neighbors object to where the Federation placed its borders.

This ship roster card pack contains: Callahan-class police cutter, Burke-class frigate, Ramius-class battle frigate, Ortega-class war destroyer, Massoud-class war destroyer, Texas-class light cruiser, Kearsarge-class new light cruiser, Constitution-class heavy cruiser, Wolverine-class fast cruiser, Prometheus-class strike cruiser, Chicago-class new heavy cruiser, Lexington-class command cruiser, Manta Ray-class new fast cruiser, London-class new command cruiser, Kirov-class battlecruiser (drone), Bismark-class battlecruiser (plasma), New Jersey-class battlecruiser (photon), Concordant-class dreadnought (plasma), Federation-class dreadnought, armed cutter (class-1 phaser), armed cutter (class-2 phaser/drone), Prime Trader transport (phaser-1), Prime Trader transport (drone), Prime Trader transport (photon), mobile base (drone), mobile base (drone-photon), mobile base (photon), and battle station.

You must have A Call to Arms: Star Fleet Book 1, Revision 2 in order to use these cards.

Will the original Federation DD (Saladin-class, single nacelle) be included in a future book? Also - is it available for Federation Commander? It's an old favorite and sadly absent lately...

Jeffrey, I certainly hope so. However, I won't promise you when as we don't know that. It is in Federation Commander already with Booster #91. Federation Commander also gotten the Lesser Magellanic Cloud playtest pack: http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/129603/Federation-Commander-Lesser-Magellanic-Cloud-Playtest-Pack

You may not know, but there is a free newsletter that includes a ship and an scenario each month. It is called Communique and is available from ADB's website.

As newer ships are added (like the Battleship, Heavy Command Cruiser, etc..) will there be updates to this file or will there be a Part II?

Marcus, what we anticipate is that each book will have its own ship roster card packs. Thus Book 1 will have a set, all with the Book 1 cover on the the left. Each empire/faction will have its own color. The Federation happens to be blue. Book 2 Federation Ship Roster Card Pack will have the Book 2 cover and the Federation will have their blue. That way it will be visually easy to sort your ship roster card pack.

We are in this for the long haul. There will be lots and lots of ships!

Brian, I am sorry about that, but yes, you will have to pay for the ship roster card packs. Unfortunately, you will have to contact Mongoose regarding any sort of credit for your old cards. These ship roster cards are completely redone. We are offering the basic rulebook as a "pay what you want" version so as to ease the hurt of the new revision, but we cannot give away the cards. We did try to make them affordable for the players.

Unfortunately, I didn't keep my documents for the old version, because I never plan to play it. Only the current version.

Did you know that the new rules are available in PDF and are pay-what-you-want for a limited time?

Check them out...

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
